CHALLENGES TO OVERCOME
Monopoly in Baku with Silk Way in control of
ground-handling, permitting, air昀椀eld operations
and charging signi昀椀cant “royalty” payments.
AIR PARTNER INTERVENTION
Upon immediate noti昀椀cation of expected aircraft
diversion to Baku (still in 昀氀ight), engaged with Silk
Way senior management to heavily negotiate a
reduced royalty and ground-handling charge to
the bene昀椀t of both the diverted aircraft and the
chartered Antonov.
The client received the full bene昀椀t of millions of
dollars worth of commercial agreements/contracts
over the last 15-years between Air Partner and
Silk Way; operating charter 昀氀ights on behalf of the
United Kingdom Ministry of Defence.
