Savernake’s approach goes far beyond
craftsmanship; it’s centred around an
unwavering commitment to personal service
and a genuine understanding of what the
customer truly desires. Something made
abundantly clear by the fact that even this
interview took place while Laurie was en

Laurie’s passion for his craft is unmistakable:
“The people who really intrigue me are those
who use a knife every single day but have no
love for it. We want to make a knife that is not
only light, easy to use, and easy to care for,
but a knife someone will love. Something that
takes away the drudgery and brings back the
joy.” Unlike most manufacturers, Savernake
doesn’t use serial numbers; instead, they
engrave the customer’s name into the steel
a long-standing client. Laurie told us a story
as soon as the order is received. When asked

withstand the humid, salty environment.
A small, thoughtful suggestion perhaps, but
one that speaks volumes about Savernake’s
attention to detail and their dedication to
crafting not just beautiful knives but ones
expertly tailored to their owners' lives.
