SUPERC A R I C O N S
What makes a supercar? For some, it’s all about raw
power. For others, it’s how the car feels when pushed to
its limits, or simply how it looks standing still.
While de昀椀nitions shift with time and technology, certain
criteria never change: futuristic design, precision-tuned
aerodynamics, and mechanical artistry so striking it
borders on sculpture. And then there’s the sound – the
unmistakable roar of a high-revving V12 or the growl of a
turbocharged V6, promising pure motoring perfection.
Of course, which is the “best” supercar will always stir
昀椀erce debate. But if we were to highlight a few icons,
these models stand as shining examples of mechanical
brilliance, each worthy of a place on the podium.
MCLAREN ARTURA
British-based McLaren has long been
synonymous with precision engineering,
their vehicles honed in motorsport’s
most uncompromising arenas, including
Formula 1. Thankfully, that relentless pursuit
of excellence has also 昀椀ltered down to their
road cars, and McLaren is responsible for
some of the most coveted supercars of the
last 30 years.
The latest Artura model is a testament to their
expertise. At its core is a twin-turbo V6 hybrid
petrol engine, capable of generating 690bhp.
Built using McLaren’s aerospace-grade
ultra-light carbon 昀椀bre architecture, the Artura
hurtles from 0-60mph in under 3 seconds and
can attain a top speed in excess of 205mph.
While that is undeniably impressive, its
crowning glory is its all-round usability – this
car delivers as exceptionally on the road as it
does on the racetrack.
The McLaren Artura is as good on
the road as it is on the racetrack.
