VENEZUELA
Ancestral ways in a living forest
In southern Venezuela, the dense Amazon
rainforest shelters one of the world’s most
isolated and resilient cultures: the Yanomami.
Living in communities deep within the jungle,
the Yanomami maintain a world view shaped
by the forest itself – its rhythms, spirits,
and cycles. Their language, rituals, and
cosmology o昀昀er profound insight into a way
of life largely untouched by modernity.
Venture to the summit of
Ayuán-tepui by helicopter.
Reaching their territory is an expedition in
itself. Guests travel by private aircraft into
a frontier airstrip, then continue by dugout
canoe along winding rivers. Based On A True
Story has arranged these encounters only
through longstanding partnerships with
trusted local leaders and expert 昀椀eld teams,
and with the logistics – 昀椀eld camps, medical
support, translators – carefully managed to
ensure comfort, safety and cultural integrity.
